A boozehound's paradise, Rye is the kind of bar where you can read the cocktail menu for fun. Every ingredient has an adjective preceding it: "absinthe rinse," "fresh muddled mint," "brandied cherry." The bar's shelves are stocked with mixology textbooks and a bazillion kinds of bitters. Bartenders-Woodberry and B&O bartending staff pick up shifts here-make the flavor-infused syrups fresh. And while Rye feels a little fancy at first, part-owner Doug Atwell worked at Waterfront Hotel and Red Star before opening this spot last fall, so you can order a fuckin' great cocktail, hold the pretension.
