What Weekly does many things very well. They are one of the best (and only) places in town for in-depth coverage of live shows and their photographs are often strikingly gorgeous. But what they don't do so well is ask for money. When they made a super-expensive-looking video that employed every noir cliche to try to get us to hand over our hard-earned bucks, many people wondered what What Weekly was actually for. Why not just use the expensive suit and video-production money for the magazine? Because the beg-athon didn't actually showcase the magazine's impressive list of subjects or contributors. So we'll help out: Give them some money already so one of Baltimore's more exciting magazines can get back down to documenting the Baltimore renaissance and quit making bad ads.
