UPDATE: Mr. Wrong pockets $250K on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'

UPDATE: Joe MacLeod walked away with $250,000! Congrats, dude.

Mr. Wrong made the correct (notice how we didn't reflexively use the "right" pun here) decision to pocket the cash instead of a guess at whose lap Shirley Temple said was "outstanding as laps go. Thighs just fleshy enough..." (The right answer was J. Edgar Hoover; MacLeod said he would have guessed Babe Ruth.)

As the episode aired on TV, Joe tweeted out a picture a bank of screens, with the center four dedicated to broadcasting "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." It appears to be... a casino. Don't blow all that loot, man!

Yesterday, we learned, just as you did, that our very own Mr. Wrong, known to the IRS as Joe MacLeod, was going to appear on a rebooted version of the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," and holy shit he got up to $100,000.

Unfortunately, the episode ended without revealing Mr. Wrong's fate. But the story picks up today at noon on ABC, and the show's Facebook page has this spoiler: "Today, Joe MacLeod of Baltimore, MD, faces the $250,000 question right away on #MillionaireTV—and he gives the correct #FinalAnswer."

It goes on to say: "Only two more questions stand between Joe and winning $1 million. Will he do it?"

His friends here at City Paper sure as hell hope so. Go, Joe!
