Happening Sunday: Sara VanDerBeek, OK Go, and more

-Sara VanDerBeek: Known for her uncanny photographs of sculptural assemblages handmade in her studio, Baltimore native Sara VanDerBeek recently returned to her home city to investigate the BMA's collection, UMBC dancers, and architectural development and decay--essentially creative birth, death, and preservation. Her musings take form in new photographs, including shots from the Second Chance salvage yard, and sculptures, one of which is made from white marble, especially familiar to anyone who's ever walked through Mount Vernon. Through September 2015, Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Drive, (443) 537-1700, artbma.org, free. (Maura Callahan)

-From the Short List: OK Go perform at Rams Head Live without the viral video props. Baltimore’s Sarah Sullivan & The New Old Fashioneds play jazz standards at The Windup Space. Massachusetts alt-rock band The Venetia Fair plays the Ottobar with The Great Heights Band, Take Care, and more. (Al Shipley)
