Happening Sunday: 'Curationism' and Dominick Murray

-David Balzer presents “Curationism”: Artists are at the mercy of curators, who control the pit of despair that is arguably the New York-centered art world. But the definition of “curating” is expanding to include, among other things, the decisions of what texts appear on a blog, what bands play at Coachella, and what condiments flavor a sandwich. Critic David Balzer shares his research from his latest book “Curationism” in which he navigates the history and increasingly fetishized state of curation. 7:30 p.m., Red Emma’s, 30 W. North Ave., (410) 602-7585, redemmas.org, free. (Maura Callahan)
