Ratscape is moving to Ottobar

Following the news Hour Haus would be closing at the end of July, Ratscape, the multi-day local music festival set to take place at the practice space and venue from July 17-19, will head up Howard Street to the Ottobar.

Mike Franklin, who runs the recording studio and operates the soundboard at Hour Haus and helped to organize Ratscape, said there was no choice but to move the festival once it was decided to close the space.

"In our eviction notice it stated that no events were to be held on the property, much to our chagrin," he said. "We would love nothing more to host at the Hour Haus, but it's out of our hands at this point."

Joshua Schleupner, another Ratscape organizer, said the price went from $5 per day to $8 per day in order to pay for security and house sound. See the full festival lineup here.
