Premiere: Listen to new Bond St. District single 'Technicolor'

City Paper named the rap duo Bond St. District, aka producer Paul Hutson and MC DDm, Best New Band in 2015, praising the group's "Prince Paul-ish golden-age hip-hop production and the intelligent awareness of daily life in a disenfranchised 21st-century city."

Naturally, it was cool to see them become part of the reboot for local music mainstay Friends Records. And now we bring to you 'Technicolor,' the first song off their forthcoming album "A Church On Vulcan," due out Nov. 4 on Friends.

Over a looped, plinking Hutson beat, DDm raps about his dreams of making it big that are so vivid the colors pop. But there's a bit of an ominous edge to the track, making it feel like maybe DDm's visions are a little too on point. Listen below.

And be sure to catch Bond St. District's album release show at the Ottobar on Nov. 5, which includes appearances from Eze Jackson, Blacksage, Chiffon, Joy Postell, and D.K. the Punisher, as well as a prize for whoever looks best in their finest church attire.
