Fields Festival returns in August with the Sun Ra Arkestra, Dan Deacon, and much more

Fields Festival, the ambitious multi-day music festival that takes the weirdness of the city's avant-garde music scene (2014's Best Use of Hippies) and transports it to the woods, will return after a one-year hiatus.

Headlined by the Sun Ra Arkestra, Dan Deacon, Deakin of Animal Collective, Weyes Blood, Flock of Dimes, and Wolf Eyes, the festival will take place Aug. 19-21 at Camp Ramblewood in Darlington.

Wume, Deradoorian, Horse Lords, Ed Schrader's Music Beat, TT the Artist, Chiffon, DJ Dog Dick, Mild High Club, Earth Eater, and the dance group Fluct are among the other groups scheduled to perform, with many more scheduled to be announced over the next several weeks.

Tickets go on sale May 5 and cost $100 for the weekend. There are no day passes available. Some cabin beds are available for the duration of the festival for an additional $30.
