Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are coming to Baltimore in April

When Bruce Springsteen played the Royal Farms Arena in 2009, it was the first time The Boss and his mighty E Street Band had stopped in Baltimore in roughly three decades. Here's City Paper's review of that 2009 concert (and here's one I wrote for the old Baltimore music blog Aural States [R.I.P.])

Local fans won't have to endure as long a wait for another appearance, as the band just announced a show at the Royal Farms Arena on April 20. Tickets go on sale Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.

As you likely already know if you're reading this, Springsteen is touring behind the release of a deluxe box set dedicated to his fifth album, "The River." The double album will be played in full, but this being a Bruce show, that means there will be another hour or so of material in addition to that.

Early reviews from The River Tour are still coming in, and they are, not surprisingly, glowing. After all, few bands can deliver a three-hour marathon performance that will have the crowd on its feet the entire night.
