Bombadillo lineup announced, includes Big Freedia, Lower Dens, TT The Artist, more

The word "curated" is totally one of those words that lost all its meaning due to overuse, but it actually seems like the best descriptor of the lineup for Bombadillo, which takes place at Druid Hill Park on Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The list of 37 underground acts is genuinely diverse while also hovering in a hard-to-explain or maybe, know-it-when-you-hear-it space between experimental indie rock and arty turn-up music. The bill includes a number of dance music legends (Kevin Saunderson, Big Freedia, Ultra Nate), some up-and-coming club futurists (Uniiqu3, MikeQ, Jubilee), a few of Baltimore's more ambitious (ostensibly) rock 'n' roll groups (Arbouretum, Lower Dens, Celebration, and Flock of Dimes), and lots of City Paper's favorite local acts including Blacksage, Bond St. District, Chiffon, James Nasty, Normaling, Oh Hang, Schwarz, TT The Artist, and Wume. Tickets cost $35 and are on sale now.
