Bassnectar, Above & Beyond headline this year's Moonrise Festival

American DJ and record producer Bassnectar is set to return as a headliner of the Moonrise Festival along with British trance trio Above & Beyond, who will be performing at the festival for the first time. Now in its second year, The Moonrise Festival released "Phase 1" of its lineup today, featuring more than 40 acts, after promising fans it would be revealed on May 19. The electronic dance music festival will take place at Pimlico Race Course, or "Club Pimlico" (last year's Best EDM Venue) as we like to call it, on Aug. 8-9.

Bassnectar, whose large fan following refers to themselves as "bass heads," easily drew the largest crowd at last year's Moonrise Festival, where thousands of energetic people threw glowsticks toward the crowd as one man crowd surfed in a wheelchair. Bassnectar will close the festival out with his performance on Saturday and Above & Beyond will close the festival with their performance Sunday.

Other notable acts include Big Gigantic, Borgeous, Datsik, Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead, Infected Mushroom, Snails, and Porter Robinson, who will be playing an original live set with no pre-mixed material. If the hip-hop and trap scene is what you're after, have no fear: Brillz, Yellow Claw, and Ty Dolla $ign are also on the bill.

General admission early bird and VIP early bird tickets are are sold out, but general admission advance tickets are now on sale for $149.50-$165, as well as VIP "Early Bird II" tickets for $225. For more information go to
