Baltimore Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 99th birthday with 99-cent tickets

Today is the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's 99th birthday, and to celebrate, the orchestra is offering up 99-cent tickets for the shows in the remainder of the 2014-2015 season.

The discount, which it just announced on social media, will only apply to the first 99 tickets that use the promo code BSO99, so grab them as soon as you can.

One of the highlights of the available tickets is the Feb. 27 concert, at which the BSO will play Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, Berlioz's "Le Corsaire," Ravel's Trio for Piano, Violin, and Cello, and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 with pianist Louis Lortie. There's also the Shakespeare in Love concert on Friday, March 6 and Sunday, March 8—no, the orchestra won't be screening the Gwyneth Paltrow movie, but it will be playing Shakespeare-inspired compositions by Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, as well as Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1.
