Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks offer a sufficiently spooky music video for 'Catchy (Was Contagious)'

You can't have the words "slasher flicks" in your band name (or a promo photo like the one above) and not make something for Halloween, right? Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks, the offshoot of Baltimore-born experimental pop group Animal Collective featuring Angel Deradoorian and Jeremy Hyman, delivers with a nearly nine-minute black-and-white music video for 'Catchy (Was Contagious),' following a young boy as he is haunted or chased by homages to classic horror characters such as Wolfman, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Watch the video, complete with creepy shots of the sun bleeding into the moon and freaky sound effects, below. Interesting to note: The video was directed by Abigail Portner, the sister of Dave Portner (aka Avey Tare), and Giovanni Ribisi (!) served as director of photography.
