July 2-3: African-American Festival

The African-American Festival, also known as AFRAM, has been uniting the city in an organic way since the late ‘70s. It feels like it’s gradually grown over the years, attracting bigger name stars. This year’s festival will be hosted by Vivica A. Fox and features entertainment from Common, Estelle, and Angie Stone. There’s also educational booths, a culture village, and all the unhealthy festival food you can eat. It always feels a little like you’re baking out on the asphalt outside Camden Yards, but it’s worth it.
