July 1-3: Dundalk Heritage Fair

Where to begin? While we're totally not down with the kitchy display of the Confederate Flag that seems to be on every table of Dundalk's music and entertainment festival, we do like to get down to the, um, unique selection of cover bands that play the fest every year. This year, the cover bands have taken over, as there's not a well-known headliner, like America, who performed last year. Almost Queen (a Queen cover band), High Voltage (AC/DC), Cold Gin (KISS), and Leather + Lace (Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac) will join local hair metal band Kix on the main stage this year.  While we're down for a cover of ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,’ we really attend this festival for the beer garden karaoke on Friday. Karaoke usually runs between all weekend from 1-4 p.m. and includes access to two beer trucks that sell cups for a mere $3. In short, we love to get wasted and sing with the area's colorful locals. 2717 Playfield St., (410) 284-4022, dundalkheritagefair.com. (J.M. Giordano)
