WEDNESDAY: The Steve Miller Band keeps on a-rock'n you at Pier Six Pavilion. Nashville garage-rockers Turbo Fruits play the Metro Gallery with Short List friends the Woolly Moon and Thee Lexington Arrows. Qi Lo plays acoustic modern-rock covers at the Hard Rock Café. Jazz guitarists Mike Pope and Tom Guarna collaborate at An die Musik. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong get funky with Twiddle and the Hornitz at the 8x10.

THURSDAY: R&B teen idols Mindless Behavior balls like them boys in Menudo at Pier Six Pavilion. Brooklyn buzz bands Woods and Parquet Courts play the Ottobar, with excellent locals Sal Bando opening. The Guitar Brothers and the Manly Deeds get rustic at Joe Squared. Boston singer/songwriter Ellis Paul performs at Baldwin's Station in Sykesville. Local rockers Whiskey Tango Foxtrot performs at the Thursday night live music series at the Can Company in Canton.

FRIDAY: Cock-rock revivalists Buckcherry loves the cocaine at Power Plant Live. Australian multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd performs at Rams Head Live. Nickelodeon favorites Victoria Justice and Big Time Rush bring their summer tour to the kids at Pier Six Pavilion. Baltimore-based jazz pianist Mark Meadows leads his quartet at An die Musik. The Powell Younger Project plays R&B at Joe Squared. The Lumineers have a pop-folk singalong under the stars at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Local black-metal band Existentium plays the Sidebar with Hydra Kill and Area 52. Brit soul singer Lianne La Havas headlines Baltimore Soundstage. San Francisco-based rockers Thao and the Get Down Stay Down perform at the Ottobar with Lady Lamb the Beekeeper. The coal miner's daughter, Loretta Lynn, is at the 9:30 Club in Washington.

SATURDAY: Mealymouthed hipster-soul merchant Citizen Cope headlines Rams Head Live. Saxophonist Paul Carr performs in the Baltimore Museum of Art's Jazz in the Sculpture Garden concert series. Baltimore psychobilly trio Carrie and the Dirty Pillows perform at 1919. Annapolis singer-songwriter Stephen Heller performs at Joe Squared. The 99 and Blues Band provides the evening's entertainment at Midtown BBQ & Brew in Mount Vernon. Carolyn Malachi combines jazz, hip-hop, and spoken word into a unique new sound at An die Musik. Virginia duo the Sorrow Singers perform at a Minas Gallery exhibit of photographer Jack Radcliffe's work. Don't miss: Nelly's Echo, the Baltimore-based singer who competed on Christina Aguilera's team on NBC's The Voice last year, holds an album-release party at Baltimore Soundstage with the Marc Evans Trio and Playground Etiquette. The seventh annual Maryland Independent Label Festival at Fish Head Cantina features a full day of music from Pasadena, Rebel Nation, and many more.

SUNDAY: New Order, minus Peter Hook, headlines Merriweather Post Pavilion. L.A. rockers Nico Vega and Crash Kings co-headline Rams Head Live. Manuel Valera brings his Grammy-nominated latest album, New Cuban Express, to An die Musik.

MONDAY: Swedish metal band Ghost, known in the States as Ghost B.C., plays Rams Head Live with Skeletonwitch. 98 Rock's Noise in the Basement local band showcase features Brian Hardy of the Midfields, Cryptic Matter, Fundamentals, and Too Drunk to Notice at the Ottobar. Beyoncé performs the first of two nights at the Verizon Center in Washington.

TUESDAY: Out of Your Head Collective brings back its wonderful "drum wars" night at the Windup Space, with Will Redman, Steve Olson, Mike Gambore, Jason Cohen, and Jim Hannah providing the percussion overload. Don't miss: Ted Leo and the Pharmacists play the Ottobar for the hundredth time, with more great songs than ever, with locals Dope Body opening.

WEDNESDAY: Frederick jam band Signs Point East perform at Joe Squared. Unregistered Nurse presents Natural Child, Dino's Boys, and Ravagers at the Ottobar.
