Drink, relax, and listen to some scary stories by the folks from Baltimore Ghost Tours as you explore Fells Point's spookiest pubs.

Mill Stories, 1-3 p.m. May 16, Steelworker Hall, 550 Dundalk Ave., free. A program of short films based on interviews with steel workers and others in the Sparrows Point community.

Railroad Heritage Days, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 18, noon-5 p.m. May 19, Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S. Burhans Blvd., Hagerstown, (301) 739-4665, roundhouse.org, $5, children 4-12 50 cents, ages 3 and under free. The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum houses some of the most interesting artifacts of railroad history. Come to learn, take trolley rides, and see Thomas the Tank Engine.

Chestertown Tea Party Festival, May 24-26, Chestertown River, chestertownteaparty.org, free. Baltimore's answer to the Boston Tea Party occurred in 1774 when residents of Chestertown, Md. dumped tea into the Chester River. Check out the reenactment, colonial parade, raft race, street performances, 5k and 10-mile run, crafts, and strolling musicians.

Memorial Day at Fort McHenry, 2 p.m. May 26, 9 a.m. May 27, Fort McHenry, 2400 E. Fort Ave., (410) 962-4290, baltimore.org. Honor the graves of African-American veterans at the Mount Auburn Cemetery on May 26. Then on Memorial Day, there will be a flag ceremony, a reading of Memorial Day poems, and a recreation of the historic 1880 Memorial Day observance. Also check out a Memorial Day service at Loudon Park National Cemetery involving music, a musket salute, and wreath-laying.

Fairmount Academy's 1800s Festival, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. June 1, Fairmount Road, visitsomerset.com, free. Check out an 1800s classroom and participate in a spelling bee. There will also be crafts, seafood, and dessert.

Don't Give Up the Ship! CommeMorate Bicentennial Battle at Fort McHenry, 6-10 p.m. June 1, Fort McHenry, 2400 E. Fort Ave.,(410) 962-4290, baltimore.org, free. 200 years ago, the U.S. frigate Chesapeake battled the British Guerriere. Sure, the Americans lost, but the event marks the origin of the popular U.S. Navy cry, "Don't Give up the Ship!" Come celebrate with military pageantry, including a concert by the U.S. Navy band, Drill Team, and color guard.

In Full Glory Reflected: Maryland During the War of 1812, Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument St.,(410) 685-3750, mdhs.org, $6, seniors $5, kids and students $4. During this anniversary year, two centuries removed from the War of 1812, America's second war of independence, the Maryland Historical Society is retelling a dramatic story with 5,000 square feet of displays and more than 100 historic artifacts.

Gettysburg Civil War Battle Reenactment, 8:30 a.m. July 4-7, Gettysburg, gettysburgreenactment.com, adults $35-$90, youth $15-$40, children free, grandstand seating $15-$60. So learning about history from books doesn't do it for you. But how about a live reenactment at the site of one of the Civil War's bloodiest battles? Also check out the living history village and living history activities tents.

Flag House Flag Day Celebration, June 14, the Star Spangled Banner Flag House, 844 E. Pratt St., (410) 837-1793, flaghouse.org, free. Fife and drum music, the Marine Corps color gaurd, and tours of the Flag House.

Chautauqua, July 5-13, mdhc.org, free. Watch history come alive at Chautauqua, taking place at six sites across Maryland. This year's event will feature figures from turning points in 20th-century history. Look out for Amelia Earhart, Jackie Robinson, and Rachel Carson!
