THURSDAY: Baltimore-based composer Andrew Bernstein's chamber piece "North American Walkabout" is performed by an ensemble of local musicians at An die Musik, with New York groups Wet Ink and On Structure also on the bill. Friends of the Short List and killer live hip-hop combo Soul Cannon is back in action at the Golden West with Holy Ghost Party and Chester Gwazda. The Pietasters skank out with their stank out at the Ottobar with Big D and the Kids Table. The Windup Space presents the Dual Improv Jam, with music by Friday Night Book Club and movement by the Deep Vision Dance Company. Faster Pussycat brings the riffs to the House of Rock. The Leith Symington Griswold Hall hosts a Baroque recital. Terrence Hannum, Ars Phoenix, and USSA Pleasuredome perform at Club K. Creative Alliance at the Patterson presents a soulful bill with QueenEarth, Janice B., and Brooks Long and the Mad Dog No Good. FRIDAY: The George Colligan/Todd Marcus Quartet Featuring Warren Wolf, which performs at An die Musik tonight, bills every member of the group except for bassist Eric Wheeler, and that just doesn't seem fair. The Recher Theatre hosts HonduRock: A Concert for the Children of Honduras, featuring an acoustic set from Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Local rockers Drowning Season and E. Joseph hold a joint release party for their latest releases at the Windup Space. Celebration, Rapdragons, and Lizz King make a thrillingly odd combination of great Baltimore acts at the Ottobar. The Creative Alliance at the Patterson presents Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble. Viral rapper Wax headlines Rams Head Live with local opener Minlus and McCracken. Co La, Mister Lies, and Braider perform at the Golden West. Don't miss: Local visual/prose artist Stephanie Barber opens for Norwegian/American trio Suit at the Red Room.
SATURDAY: The Windup Space holds its third annual BRO-Down, with performances from Height with Friends and Thee Lexington Arrows, to raise funds for the new rock opera Murdercastle. Country hitmakers Florida Georgia Line plays a sold-out show at Rams Head Live. Uncategorizable rapper Mykki Blanco headlines the Metro Gallery with local support from Dope Body. The All Mighty Senators and the Bellevederes party down at the 8x10. Tall in the Saddle plays a benefit for the Nikki Perlow Foundation at the Recher Theatre. The Creative Alliance at the Patterson holds a Baltimore Banjo Showcase with Ken and Brad Kolodner and Mike Munford. Jordannah Elizabeth plays acoustic at Joe Squared. Welsh hardcore band Goodtime Boys play the Charm City Art Space with Loma Prieta and Octaves. Don't miss: Karter Jaymes, a veteran sideman and songwriter for Teddy Pendergrass and the Whatnauts, brings his solo act to An die Musik.
SUNDAY: The Recher Theatre's last hurrah before the Towson venue ends 15 years of concerts features over 20 bands, including the All Mighty Senators, Ashes Remain, the Hint, and many more.
MONDAY: The Ottobar hosts 98 Rock's Noise in the Basement showcase.
TUESDAY: Best Coast is crazy for you at the Ottobar with Dead Mellotron and Crimson Wave. Experimental musician and poet Aidan Baker plays the Metro Gallery with Insect Ark, Co La, and Vlonde.
