At 12:32 A.M. Police found David Womack, an African-American man who lived on the 1100 block of Carrollton Avenue, in the driver's seat of a car parked on the 2900 block of Mosher Street. He had been shot in the torso. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:02 A.M.
Friday, March 8
At 6:07 A.M. police found Laconte Mitchell, a 28-year-old African-American man, dead near the railroad tracks on the 600 block of South Fulton Avenue. The property is owned by the B&O Railroad Museum. Autopsy determined Mitchell, who worked at Spring Grove Hospital Center and lived about two miles away on the 4300 block of Parkton Street, died from multiple stab wounds.
Police have released the identities of both men killed on March 2. Kevin Gipson, a 43-year-old Caucasian man, was found on the 1100 block of Barclay Street. He lived on the unit block of Ballman Court in Brooklyn Park. Gipson was quoted in a story in the Baltimore Sun about the eviction of people camped under I-83 across from the Central Booking and Intake Center. He had friends in the camp. Maurice Barnes, a 20-year-old African-American man, was found shot on the 1800 block of Presbury Street in Sandtown-Winchester. He lived on the 3000 block of Clifton Avenue.
