You can't please everyone all the time, City Paper, but you do a pretty good job

You can’t please everyone all the time, City Paper, but you do a pretty good job of keeping most of us reasonable people happy. But I do take issue with your Bike Issue (April 18). You guys failed to recognize the numerous bike events held in the city that are helping to change ideas about cycling here. Where were your nods to the major rides that draw thousands?

Editor Lee Gardner responds: We recognize/nod to many of the city’s major bike events in the issues that come out in the weeks they take place.

“Olfactory Thing”(In reference to “Sneaker Freaks,” Feature, April 11)

My sneakers

they don’t fly

Doesn’t mean

I don’t try

Always thought

I was about bein’

a pretty fly guy.

My sneaks

don’t have wings,

They do not speak,

they cannot sing

but they sure can reek.

And reek they do

My aura is distinct

honest and true.

To the dudes

who may fly

off buildings

with their kicks,

makes me think

I’m secure to know

they’ll never achieve

my aura of stink.

Take it from me

my sneaker bros,

it’s not the sneaks,

with the fly wing and

it ain’t the clothes

that attracts the wench

It’s an olfactory thing,

‘cuz I’m the Toe Cheese King,

the Sultan of Stench.
