Wandering Eye: Degree requirements in the job market and new University of Maryland unis
Marketplace, the public-radio business show, had an interesting take the other night on "credential creep," the tendency of jobs to require higher and higher educational attainment over time. Citing a study from Burning Glass Technologies, a labor market analytics firm, found that 65 percent of the job listings for executive secretaries required a B.A. degree, even though only 19 percent of people holding those positions have one.
