Graue Mill visitors travel to Underground Railroad in Oak Brook

Children and adults at Graue Mill and Museum in Oak Brook on Friday and Saturday were able to experience what it was like to be a passenger of the Underground Railroad. The theatrical experience at Graue Mill began with a skit during which passengers met an actress portraying the legendary Harriet Tubman. They then followed the would-be Hinsdale blacksmith John Coe on a journey down Salt Creek to Graue Mill. The Underground Railroad became a major impetus leading to the eradication of slavery in the 1800s, according to Graue Mill staff.
