Over two previous albums and a smattering of singles, the signature sound of Baltimore’s Lower Dens has drifted into soft focus: motorik clop, diffuse, fried art-rock, plus a modicum of folk, topped with lead songwriter/guitarist Jana Hunter’s rich, husky vocals.
