Last year, Caleb Stine released "Maybe God Is Lonely Too," a stunning solo record about God's silence, American traditions (good, bad, and genocidal), falling in love, and birds. It was City Paper's Best Album in our 2014 Best Of and I said this about it in a feature back in April 2014 when the record was released: "There are echoes of Neil Young and Townes Van Zandt throughout, and it exists in the same tradition-parsing worlds as contemporary country affronts from Mount Moriah, or Will Oldham."
