Happening Saturday: Baltimore Beauty Pageant, Bazaart, and more
-Baltimore Beauty Pageant: Beauty pageants are usually horrifying: spray-tan-washed lines of cookie-cutter androids demonstrating talents in perpetuating inaccurate female stereotypes. But the thought of a beauty pageant doesn’t leave such a bad taste in our mouths when we think of it as an “Irreverent Pageant and Neo-Burlesque Throw-Down” and when the winner is crowned Queen OR King of Crabs. In its fourth year, the competition will feature performances from local burlesque favorites, including the 2013 Queen of Crabs and Bawdy Shop Burlesque dancer, Sunny Sighed. 8 p.m., The Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St., (410) 662-0069, theottobar.com, $15-$20. (Maura Callahan)
