Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Visit the nearby Terrapin State Park. This amazing little park borders an office park complex, but you wouldn’t know it as you walk on the small beach or cruise the bike trail.

Eastern Shore Brewing Co.

Phone: (410) 745-8010

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Eastern Shore Brewing is located smack in the middle of the picturesque town of St. Michaels. Check out the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum or stroll the shops on Main Street. The tiny Flamingo Flats shop is one of our favorites in Maryland with more than 1,000 types of hot sauce for sale.

Tall Tales Brewing Company

Address: 6929 Heron Grove Court, Parsonsburg
Phone: (410) 543-2739
Master Brewer: Jimmy Sharp
Food: Yes
Tours: Yes

Description: We would have blown by this fantastic brewery if it weren’t for a series of small white signs on Route 50. The menu looks impressive and it has have beer tastings if you’re popping in for a quick sample.

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Tall Tales is more of a dining and beer destination; there’s not much to do around the brewery.

RAR Brewing

Address: 504 Poplar St., Cambridge
Phone: (443) 225-5664
Master Brewer: Randy Mills
Food: Yes
Tours: Yes

Description: We discovered RAR after asking at a nearby bakery about beer in Cambridge. We found a family-friendly brewpub with a personable and helpful staff. The pub is well lit with huge windows and a shuffleboard table. Try the Red-C (an American Red) or the Bottom Feeder (a Farmhouse Blonde).

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Downtown Cambridge is a town on the rebound. We stopped, by chance, at Black Water (formerly known as Elliot’s Baking Company) on Race Street and were really impressed with the coffee and baked goods (we’re still drooling over the house-made Pop-Tarts). There are a few antique stores too.

Evolution Craft Brewing Co.

Address: 201 E. Vine St., Salisbury
Phone: (443) 260-2337
Master Brewers: Michael Piorunski and Kerry Williams
Food: Yes
Tours: Yes

Description: Evolution Craft Brewing Co. is the largest on the Maryland Eastern Shore and sports about a dozen types of beer at any time and restaurant fare above the usual pub grub. The tasting room is separate from the restaurant, so if you want to do a sampler or fill a growler you don’t have to wait for a table.

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Evolution is in downtown Salisbury. One of out favorite things to do while in this pretty big Eastern Shore town is visit the Ward Museum of Waterfowl Art. Ward features the amazing collection of carved decoys, some of which are so lifelike you have to look twice.

Burley Oak Brewing Company

Address: 10016 Old Ocean City Blvd., Berlin
Phone: (443) 513-4647
Master Brewer: Bryan Brushmiller
Food: No
Tours: Yes

Description: This was the most fun we had at any microbrewery on the shore. This tiny brewhouse attracts the local Berlin residents who the staff knows by name. Brewer and founder Bryan Bushmiller never stopped smiling and gave us a tour of the aging room like an excited kid showing off his prized toys. It also had our favorite beer on the trip, the Merry ‘N Berry strawberry sour ale. Refreshing and summery.

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: Located in the town of Berlin, where “Runaway Bride” was filmed, Burley Oak is close to a bunch of antique stores and historical buildings.

Assawoman Bay Brewing Company

Address: 4435 Coastal Highway, Ocean City
Phone: (410) 390-3231
Master Brewer: Jason Weissberg
Food: Yes (at its affiliated restaurant and pubs)
Tours: Yes

Description: Assawoman Bay Brewing Company is in a shopping center complex and its brews are only available at its brewpub/restaurant Shallow Waters and three pubs in the area. Its pilsner and brown ales are the ones to try.

Things to do that aren’t alcohol related: This location of the Assawoman Bay Brewing Company is on Coastal Highway in Ocean City. Should be self-explanatory.
