BEST BUFFET: Jade Garden Buffet
You can tell by the handwritten note at the counter warning customers that there's a two-hour limit that the Jade Garden Buffet caters to a professional-eating clientele. But even with that generous time limit, it would be a real carny trick to plow through even a third of the offerings here. We appreciate the astounding variety of the three well-stocked buffet tables, offering stuffed shrimp, multiple varieties of mussels, a ridiculous selection of chicken dishes, homemade dumplings (yum, yum), sushi, rice, rice noodles, veggie rice, short ribs, fish--fried and broiled--some strange octopus dish, hash browns, pizza, soft ice cream, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, and whatever else may show up here at the whim of the cooks. And then there's the Mongolian grill, where fresh veggies and/or meats can be wokked up before your eyes. All this can be had for just $7.50 for lunch, or $9.99 for dinner. Now that's a buffet.
