"I grew up gardening and cooking and developed a program to offer children lunch options that were seasonal, locally sourced, homemade, and organic (when available). I am passionate about reconnecting people to their sacred relationship with food and nature. I take the photographs so parents can see what their children eat each day. It also shows parents what they can recreate at home and hopefully inspires them to spend just a little time sourcing locally and cooking or gardening with their children. It's more than nutrition. It's a culture and lifestyle that promotes emotional, physical, and spiritual well being."Emma Novashinski is Executive Chef, Master Gardener, and Director of "The Garden Tuck Shop" program, which provides lunches for The New Century Montessori School in Fells Point. If you have a project or know of a photo series that you think would look great in Contact Sheet, email our photo editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
