The man shot on Jan. 14 in the Barclay neighborhood has been identified as Justin Gaglione, a 29-year-old Caucasian man who lived in the Midtown-Belvedere area.
Tuesday, Jan. 18
5:55 p.m. Pierre Forrester, a 23-year-old African-American man, parked his car near his house in the 1400 block of North Central Avenue in East Baltimore’s Oliver neighborhood. He got out and started to walk to his home when he was shot repeatedly, falling on the front steps of the house next to his. Members of his family heard the shots and came outside. They pulled him inside, where he collapsed in the front hall. His family tried to administer first aid. Forrester was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he died 12 hours later.
Wednesday, Jan. 19
7:24 p.m. Kenneth Battle, a 29-year-old African-American man, was in the 2900 block of Brighton Street in West Baltimore’s Rosemont neighborhood when he was shot in his hand, thigh, and back. Battle ran to Poplar Grove Street where someone called the police. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and died a short time later.
Thursday, Jan. 20
5:59 a.m. Baltimore Police officers responded to the 800 block of North Bradford Street in East Baltimore’s Milton-Montford neighborhood and found Teresa Moore, a 51-year-old African-American woman, and Michael Mick, a 40-year-old Caucasian man, inside a building. Both had been shot repeatedly. According to police, it appears to have been a robbery that turned into an execution-style murder. Two African-American men, Antoine Adams, 32, and Richard Damon, 35, were arrested for the crime. They were arrested on the same day as the incident while robbing someone else.
7:39 a.m. An hour and a half later, and about seven blocks away, police officers found Penelope Medina, a 42-year-old African-American woman, in the 2100 block of East Fayette Street in the Middle East neighborhood. She had been shot several times in the forehead and was pronounced dead on the scene.
11:32 a.m. Four hours after that Willie Covington, a 56-year-old African-American man, was found dead by his mother in the 2100 block of Aiken Street in East Baltimore’s Midway neighborhood. Covington had been shot repeatedly.
1:46 p.m. A 19-year-old African-American woman named Reshawn Myers was found lying in the snow in the 5700 block of Chinquapin Parkway in North Baltimore. She had been shot in the forehead. Myers is the fifth African-American woman to be murdered this year. Last year there were 24 African-American females murdered all year.
