From May 10 to May 16, Baltimore City went seven consecutive days without a homicide. Despite the reprieve, there have been five more homicides this year than at this time last year.

Sunday, May 17

7:13 p.m. An unidentified Hispanic man, who police believe may be homeless, was found in a wooded area in the 7000 block of Reisterstown Road. He had experienced blunt-force trauma to his head and was dead. He is the third Hispanic person murdered this year.

Sami Abduss McCargo, a 19-year-old African-American man, was arrested on May 14 for the murder of Quinton Savage, a 22-year-old African-American man. Savage was shot repeatedly in the 2800 block Winwood Court in Cherry Hill on April 11.

On May 13, Anthony Thompson, a 50-year-old African-American man, pleaded guilty to the murder of Leslie Berger, a 41-year-old Caucasian woman. Thompson strangled Berger to death on Sept. 28, 2004.
