Murder Ink 6/18/14

For the first time since the second week of March, the murder count held steady for a full week, despite a shooting on Thursday, June 12 that homicide detectives were called to investigate. Police have not updated the identity and condition of that victim. A police officer also shot and killed a man who police say was engaged in a shootout with another man on the 5000 block of Beaufort Avenue. Eric Harris, a 30-year-old African-American man, died. The police department's new Force Investigation Team is investigating and the police officer, a two-year veteran, is on administrative detail.

Police are looking for an African-American woman captured by security camera video who they think has "key information" about the May 24 murder of Martel Denyel Jackson, a 27-year-old African-American man, on the 2300 block of Frederick Avenue. They published her picture.

The man stabbed to death on June 7 on the 2400 block of East Oliver Street was identified in the Baltimore Sun as Joseph Ryan, a 21-year-old African-American man.
