David Simon

The latest David Simon opus, "Show Me A Hero," a three-part HBO miniseries about public housing in Yonkers in the late '80s and early '90s starring Oscar Isaac and directed by Paul Haggis, premiered on Sunday night and has been getting rave reviews. But often the best part of a new Simon project is Simon himself, showing up all over the place and giving people the business. In particular, he's been further highlighting the show's topics of racism and economic disparity in interviews and also kicking against the lionization of his critically acclaimed "The Wire"—"everything is not 'The Wire,'" Simon told Slate.
