James Nasty has established himself as one of Baltimore club music’s best and most versatile DJs over the past few years, although he hadn’t released an EP since 2009’s "Good Times." This month, he rectifies that with the "Calvert St EP," out now on T&A Records. The lead track, 'Do It,' features Baltimore legend Pork Chop (in his first major appearance on a club record since the K.W. Griff smash 'Bring In The Katz'), and was also remixed by Tittsworth for the EP.

Another Baltimore club EP out this month is Mighty Mark’s "#Mighty" EP. The producer formerly known as Murder Mark’s first release since changing names last year features frequent collaborator TT The Artist (on live performance favorite "Girls"), and will be out July 21 on the French label Moveltraxx. Mighty Mark also recently remixed rapper DDm's latest buzzing single, 'Come Thru.'

And last week, Schwarz released "Open Up Yr Mind - The Remixes" via West Coast label Thunderzone. Along with four other remixes (from 333 Boyz, Byrell the Great, DJ George Constanza, and MikeG) there's a rap remix featuring TT The Artist and Memphis hip-hop legend and former Three 6 Mafia member, La Chat.

Chris Brooks has a couple of new parties in Baltimore: Afrodesiac every Thursday at Red Maple with J Fell, and Classic Material at The Rockwell (formerly Vale Tudo) in Fells Point on August 5 and the first Tuesday of every month.

Artscape is next week, and just like every year it will feature a variety of DJs at multiple locations on the festival grounds. On Friday, July 18, Spank Rock is spinning on the Station North Stage, Beautiful Swimmers headlines the Aerial Arts Stage, and Napspace and Adam T Rush are in the Silent Disco Tent. On Saturday, July 19, Ian Carey is on the Station North Stage, Landis Expandis is on the Aerial Arts Stage, and Matt Pierce and Billy Mode are in the Silent Disco Tent. And on Sunday, July 20, King Gilbert is on the Aerial Arts Stage and Neal Conway is in the Silent Disco Tent. Also on Saturday, the Windup Space is hosting an Artspace afterparty called "Music Liberated" (named after the legendary Saratoga Street record store known for carrying Bmore club records) with DJ sets by the Chavy Boys (Scottie B., Shawn Caesar, and King Tutt), who haven't played together in a few years, Jon Kwest, and the apparently very busy Chris Brooks and Mighty Mark. And over at the Paradox, Blaqstarr headlines a three-room "Club Mnemonic Artscape Afterparty" that goes from midnight to 6 a.m. and also includes The Soft Pink Truth, Kilbourne, Schwarz, Cex, and more.
