What's up with dance music

DJ AngelBaby started 2013 with a bang, releasing her first Baltimore Club mix CD, Get Pumped Vol. 1, available locally, at Down Town Locker Room stores, and online, for free download. The 92Q disc jockey's relentless mix features new and recent tracks from the who's who of Bmore Club, including KW Griff, DJ Tigga, DJ K-Spin, and executive producer Murder Mark.

It's rare to see a Baltimore Club producer step into the spotlight with a performance-oriented music video. But DJ Pierre went all out with the clip for "This That Shit Right Here," the latest single off ThEEEE MiXtApEEEE 3, by dancing and rapping in a downtown parking lot to put across the track's infectious energy.

The Barstool Blackout Tour (pictured)-an event based around blacklights, foam, smoke machines, and, presumably, dance music, that has been described as a "destructive roving dance party"-will be in the area twice this week. On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the tour returns to the Recher Theatre in Towson, then heads downtown to Baltimore Soundstage on Saturday. So you'll either want to avoid the vicinity of the venues those nights or gravitate towards them, depending on your social habits and feelings about brostep.

Schwarz of the Deep in the Game crew put his latest DJ set, "Luv Mix," on SoundCloud right in time for Valentine's Day. The half-hour mix combines productions and remixes from locals like DJ Booman and Schwarz himself with a killer selection of dance remixes of everything from Brit boy-band the Wanted to hip-hop hits by French Montana and Jay-Z. DJ Problem's "Put Your Leg Up" is about as romantic as it gets, however.
