More on Koffee Therapy.

By Wendy Ward | Posted 6/29/2005

A little 4-month old café with mustard walls, high painted-tin ceilings, and the loveliest back courtyard, Koffee Therapy just wants to be your friend. A range of local magazines and newspapers sit under the windows overlooking Franklin Street, but if print isn’t your bag, yes Virginia, it has WiFi. The small menu consists of four sandwiches and a rotating selection of quiches and salads. The Media Noche ($7) was nicely squashed in the panini machine with spiced pork, mild Swiss, slices of dill pickle, and tangy mustard between slabs of slick rosemary focaccia. The Atun ($7) looked oddly thrown together, but in a good way, with loose albacore tuna, baked Vidalias, mayo with sliced olives mixed in, tomatoes, and mixed baby greens in a pita that should’ve been stuffed instead of the way-hard to eat opened-all-the-way. A quiche with eggplant, cheddar, and prosciutto ($7.50) came with a nice little salad and those oval cherry tomatoes, but needed another 20 minutes of cooking time. Let’s hope the quiche interest keeps up (three offered the afternoon we were there), just get it right next time. The iced mocha ($3.40) and iced tea ($1.60) sufficed, but ideally we can image kicking it in the courtyard with a cold Red Stripe and the Media Noche.
