Critic's Choice: We here at City Paper may claim to know a little somethin' 'bout painting, criticism, postmodernism, and all those other horn-rimmed uppity enclaves of higher learning and culture, but when it comes to "erotic art" we're virtually tenured professors. Today, when 1448 opens its Erotic Art Show, featuring works that might make even us hardened viewers blush, you better believe we'll check it out. For unlike, say, a discrete foray to the Apex, we won't feel so dirty--or sticky, for that matter--because we're in, well, an art gallery. The show's not filthy, it's classy. Right? Right. Get down to 1448 for tonight's reception and check out works by Greg Fletcher, Trudy Babchack, Leslie Schwing (!?!), Marla Montenegro (an untitled sketch of hers from 2003 pictured above), Tom Wells, Christina McCleary, Lionel Duncan, Bill Hoke, and more.
