The work of William Faulkner presented by the UMBC Department of theatre and directed by Robert Allen.
The UMBC Department of Theatre tackles one of the English Department's cornerstones: William Faulkner's hallucinatory novel As I Lay Dying. Directed and "conceived" by Robert Allen, this production attempts to bring to the stage the multiple streams of consciousness and swampy floridity of Faulkner's tale of the Bundren family's quest to bury its matriarch. Sounds like a tall order to us, but at least they've got good material to work with.—
