If you're tired of the typical outdoor festival--the invariable smell of funnel cake and the always regrettable purchase of jewelry you just bought so the day wouldn't seem so pointless--then maybe you should hop on I-95 for something more refreshing. The third annual Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair, presented by the Washington City Paper classifieds department, features 100 vendors selling unique DIY creations. The vendors were handpicked from a jury of WCP staff and fair organizers to see who had the kookiest creations. And by kooky they mean anything from a dead Elvis statue to a gumball-machine ninja necklace to an anthropomorphic plush toy. The all-day event features the ever-popular B-boy break-dance battle, a fashion show hosted by Unsung Designers, and B-more's own burlesque performers Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey, as well as treats provided by Cake Love, Sticky Fingers, and Carmen's Italian Ice. —
