Mark Supik in Butcher's Hill started some weeks ago "planting" parts of a turned-wood sculpture he's been making in the empty tree pit in front of his house on the 2200 block of E. Pratt Street. Starting on the stump of a maple tree the city removed last year, every so often he comes out with another piece and bolts it to the top. Now the sculpture, which is something like an abstract totem pole, is taller than a person.
Here's his blog with the story.
