Blue Bellies Takeover (June 26, 2014)
Tonight and tomorrow Artifact will keep their run of pop-ups going when Alison Kirby, owner of the Nantucket-based Blue Bellies food truck, takes over the space for a northeast-style cookout. More of a casual affair than the recent Aggiofact, the food will center on Kirby’s specialty of lobster and clam rolls along with “various new England snacks” and popsicles for dessert. It looks like they’re even making a special tartar sauce with the kimchi we loved so much at Jonah Kim’s fried chicken pop-up.
As for drinks, Corey Polkoya—current director of operations for Spike Gjered’s restaurants and former head bartender at Woodberry Kitchen—will be behind the bar serving cocktails to pair with your buttery split rolls stuffed with plump crustaceans. In keeping with the casual theme, no reservations are required and the menu will be a la carte. We won’t use that popular Boston W-word to describe it, but it does seem like a good way to spend the start to the weekend.
