The state championship win for Poly basketball served dual purposes. Obviously the most important thing was that the guys were able to bring Poly its first state championship, but it also signified completion and seeing things through. For eight months the guys went through the ups and downs of being high schoolers and still were able to bring home a championship. They sacrificed time being out and hanging with friends for a goal they wanted. The same was true for me. Spending so much time at the school put a strain on my social life. It was worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat, as the result of those sacrifices gave rise to a body of work that I’m proud of.
